Midnight Embrace is a soft wall sculpture. The guardian angels of friends, through the darkest of night. A small touch will make the flowers bloom again.
Sold as rug, but can on request come with hanging system.

Material: Hand tufted and embroidered wool. The layers of different heights are sculpted to create a lush textured lanscape. The rug has a rich cotton back- ing and is finished with a hand applied embroidery stitch. The wool yarns are collected factory leftovers from The Netherlands, India and Nepal. Depending on availability of yarns small color variations can appear.

About the designer

Originally from Sweden, artist and designer Alfhild Kulper is based in Amsterdam. She studied at Central Saint Martins University of the Arts London. Having spent the last 10 years as a fashion designer for Viktor & Rolf, she has recently turned her practice from dressing the body towards dressing our living spaces.
It started with a sudden, but very strong longing. Only realised after, that the intense longing for making something physically soft was tied to the longing for a more empathic and emotional environment.
The tactility felt like a counterpart to our digital lives. And the organic shapes, craftsmanship and design based on intuition aims to create soft, safe spaces in times of uncertainty.
