Beyond The Skin is an exploration of the layers that lie beyond the surface of the leather. I work with vegetable-tanned leather, allowing its natural imperfections and character to come to life.
In my work, I see the material as a canvas, as its own entity, with which I engage in a dialogue, discovering what the leather has to offer.
Each piece is hand-patinated with natural pigments, embracing the beauty in its raw, unrefined state.
My creations are monolithic, organic, and classical in form, sculptural in presence. They embody a contrast between the warm, tactile nature of leather and the industrial edge of steel, celebrating both the primal and the refined. The process is intuitive, where I allow the material to guide me, responding to the inherent energy of each piece.
