Designed by Ben Storms
This console confirms a striking dialogue between two contrasting materialities. On the one hand, the reflective base, an air-filled volume of mirrored stainless steel, enters into an evocative relationship with its context, revealing the environment it simultaneously distorts. The onyx top, on the other hand, stands out from this same environment in an absorbing, subdued and timeless way. A natural stone with its particular characteristics - layered and almost crystalline, echoing the fluidity from which it originates - is thus all the more affirmed, revealing itself to be part of a whole that captures and holds the gaze with its enchanting appeal. The relationship between the two elements, divergent yet forming a harmonious sculptural union, is emphasised by an idea of impact. With dents in the base suggesting the weight it carries, crushed yet sustaining, a dynamic suspended in time.
Variations can be custom made.
