Designed by Sabourin Costes
The Vase is part of the Boudins Collection, a series of handcrafted functional objects that surprise and stand out by their sculptural shapes and transparent colorful palette. The Boudins pieces are iconic, yet functional and easily find their place in our daily living environments.
The Vase stands at the crossroads of luxury and playfulness. It is entirely made out of glass-transparent resin which creates distortions and reflections of the surrounding environment. All of its 18 resin rods are shaped individually then assembled in a row to form an elegant open container. Their atypical shape starts very organized then gradually becomes loose and organic. The bending allows each of them a different movement, giving life to a usually static object, like an anemone moving along with the waves.
In order to create a refine and unexpected color scale for Boudins, Sabourin Costes explored diverse directions and shades before making a final selection of this unique deep blue for the Vase. The studio has developed a few other exclusive color recipes, which are available for bespoke orders.

About the designer
With a holistic approach, Sabourin Costes creates both objects and interiors that challenge our acquired relationship towards our living environments. Their ability to navigate small to large-scale projects with ease stems from interdisciplinary experiences with clients like Hermès, Ligne Roset, Chanel and Neri&Hu— which Paola and Zoé respectively fulfilled after attending the Design Academy Eindhoven. They returned to Paris in 2019 and co-founded Sabourin Costes, aspiring to craft their own stories and work.
