Eduardo Rivas is the Founder of ERM Studio, a studio dedicated to exploring the creation of functional volumes through the harmony between contemporary and artisanal methods.

ERM Studio is a Mexican design studio that aims to explore the limitations of processes and materials. By finding errors, questioning them, and exploring them, the studio generates proposals that are both aesthetic and functional.
ERM Studio draws inspiration from curiosity, new technologies, and artisanal processes for all its proposals. Similarly, it seeks to build a creative community, involving anyone with the initiative to explore, collaborate, and learn.
The studio’s ongoing research has materialized in three interconnected collections. Digital Matter represents a convergence between digital technology and the artistic expression of aluminum as a material. From this exploration, and as a natural extension of the studio’s design process, Ciénaga emerges from experiments exploring the behaviour of liquid aluminum when dripped into sand. Expanding this line of inquiry, Ciénaga Glass translates the experimental principles developed through molten aluminum into the material universe of glass, extending the studio’s research across materials while preserving a shared logic of process and form.
