Neutral Grey Lime Green Gradienti Vase (M)

The 'Gradienti' series of mouth blown glass vases draws inspiration from the ever-changing hues of the sky, capturing its infinite color variations. Employing the traditional glassblowing technique known as 'sfumato' and skillfully blending two different colors of molten glass together, these vases aim to achieve seamless transitions between different hues, creating a gradient effect reminiscent of the subtle shifts in color seen in natural phenomena like the sky at dawn or dusk. Due to the inherent unpredictability of the glass melting and hot working process, each vase possesses its own unique characteristics. Some display perfectly smooth transitions between colors, while others reveal distinct boundaries akin to a horizon. It is this element of unpredictability that lends each vase its distinctiveness.

Please note: This piece has been designed by Laura Sattin and made in collaboration with skilled glassblowers at a furnace located at the foot of the Bernese Alps in Switzerland. The slight variations in shape, alterations in color, subtle tool marks, or small air bubbles that can be seen in the glass all testify to the authenticity of the craftsmanship. Due to the handcrafted process each piece is unique.
