This sculptural piece from the Volcano Series embodies the essence of Jojo Corväiá’s signature style, with its bold, dark surface and monumental form. Finished with a unique glaze developed by the artist, the surface reveals deep, almost bronze-like tones that enhance the piece’s volcanic energy and intensity. The complex structure, featuring multiple chambers, adds to its intrigue, making it both visually and technically challenging—an embodiment of the meticulous process and skill required to achieve such a form.
Standing tall as a floor sculpture, this piece commands the space around it, presenting itself as a powerful and uncompromising pres- ence. Its substantial dimensions, combined with the rich texture and tonal depth, affirm its role as a classic work in Corväiá’s oeuvre, balancing both raw strength and refined elegance.
This is a piece that celebrates the essence of sculpture itself—bold, grounded, and alive with expressive energy.
