Oracle, a concave shell form on the wall with a « bounce » is a thermoformé piece of glass silvered behind to make it reflective like a mirror. Similar to Anish Kapoor’s reflective discs which they are often compared , they are about ones perception of the world around them. Kapoors pieces are very well polished metal (very fragile , not to touch , for staining) are about ones place in the world and therefor introspective.
In the 6th century BC , Croesus, the ruler of Lydia sought guidance from the Oracle in Delphi as he wanted to invade Persia.
The Oracle responded as always in riddle, « An army will be launched and a great empire will fall ».
He launched his army and lost his empire.
The Oracle picks up all movement in the space and changes color as the room does , reflecting what the room says to it.
It is important to be aware of what is happening around….
