Loose Control is a sculptural series by Mircea Anghel forged through acts of deliberate surrender. Working with copper and metal sheets, Anghel uses controlled explosions—often with dynamite—to shape the material, allowing force and unpredictability to become co-authors of each piece. The resulting forms are bent, ruptured, and warped by impact, capturing a frozen instant of chaos. In Loose Control, destruction becomes creation, and the raw energy of the process is embedded in every surface. It is a meditation on relinquishing authorship, trusting the unknown, and finding form within rupture.
