Introducing the latest creation of MAISON JONCKERS – the TATAU Side table in etched Black Marble. Crafted from the exquisite Noir de Golzinne, also known as Belgian Black Marble, this table is a testament to the unparalleled elegance and sophistication that this fine black marble exudes. The engraved details on the TATAU Side Table tell a story of the hands that shaped it. Like a poetic trace left by the hands of skilled artisans, the engravings dance across the surface, creating an intricate narrative that adds depth and character to the piece. It is an homage to the enduring relationship between human creativity and the raw, natural beauty of Noir de Golzinne.
As the Golzinne Noir marble is extracted from deep underground quarries, reaching an impressive depth of 70 meters, the parallel with the engraved detailing becomes profound. Just as the marble is unearthed, revealing its hidden splendor, the engraved motifs unveil the sophisticated elegance beneath the surface of the table.
This creation transcends the boundaries of furniture; it becomes a conversation piece, a work of art that tells a tale of human ingenuity and the sublime beauty found within the earth. The Golzinne Noir Black Marble Side Table stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of craftsmanship, where the mark of the human hand becomes a masterpiece in itself.
Leaving a trace of existence, a link to the past, a dialogue with the present and fuel for the future. MAISON JONCKERS is a family story that evolves with the time. A trace etched into material, shaped, attacked by oxides and petrified in marble. New worlds and universes revealed by a family of alchemist creators. Primitive and sophisticated, raw and sublime, imperfect and timeless.
TATAU, like an imprint left by the gesture on a skin... of marble.
TATAU, which means to hit in Tahitian, becomes Tattoo at the end of the 18th century in Captain James Cook's diary during one of his exploratory trips to Polynesia. Universal and ancestral practice, tattooing is part of the customs of many peoples and the oldest traces were found on a man who died more than 5,000 years ago.

About the artist
For almost ten years, Alexandra and Grégoire Jonckers have been following in the footsteps of their father, sculptor Armand, through new creations at the frontiers of design and art. Particularly attached to the experimental dimension which reinterprets techniques developed several decades ago, they bring a new dynamic and instill their distinctive signature which nevertheless remains imbued with this DNA characteristic of MAISON JONCKERS
