The bb pendant light
bb like baby, mon amour
bb like Brigitte Bardot, voluptuous, suave
bb like babybel cheese, whose ingenious, soft, red, wax shell splits away into pieces.
The idea of bb came from tectonic experiments in material and form, where equal parts make a whole. A simple wheel, cast in aluminium, is divided, and assembled with a glass lamp shade in a poetic manner to make a decorative light that is aesthetically striking and illuminates a delicate, refracted light. The bb pendant light hangs well alone or in a cascading set. The pendant is part of a family of sand-casted aluminium furniture pieces.
Material: 5mm cast aluminium + cast glass lamp shade
Made in France
The pendant is composed of a large cast shell encasing a textured cast glass shade diffuser. The metal is finished with restraint; highlighting the roughness of making by leaving traces of process apparent, whereas the textured glass is sand blasted and polished to give a delicate diffusion of refracted light.

About the designer
Corpus Studio is an architecture and design office based in Paris, working locally and abroad. Founded by Konrad Steffensen and Ronan Le Grand, Corpus Studio creates spaces, objects, places, stories, atmospheres and environments.
We play with volume, light, shadow and materiality to compose poetic and emotive spaces that heighten the experience of our surroundings, whether they are radically monumental or diminutively quiet. Over-arching this, we believe that by responding to occasion and instilling spaces with comfort and a strong fundamental aesthetic quality, we can enrich our bond with the built environment and therefore our daily lives.
